simplify and reduce

I need to simplify my life.....why does everyone create this image that you must have a nice car, house,clothes, material garbage, and even a nice bike.  I feel i'm quite the opposite.  I love old things!  our house was built in the early 40's, I buy my clothes from a consignment shop in town, i hate buying things for the house/decorations.  and our car well that is another story, for some reason i'm ready to sell the car and buy a cheap older car spending no more that $1500.  It just needs to take me from raceA to race B.  If i didn't race i don't even think i'd own a car.  Joey and I already commute to work by bike, now all we need is a bike trailer and a townie bike with panniers.  I have my old bike "Sunny" who is being converted now to have a rack and we now have panniers.  I can't wait.  We are going to invest in a trailer so every tuesday we can hop on the rail trail and ride about 25 miles to an organic farm in Parsons.  There we can pick up some yummy organic veggies and eggs and then hop back on the rail trail to home for a great ride of 50 miles with one bike trailer and the other with loaded panniers.  What a great way to support local farmers and get exercise the non car way.  woo-hoo i'm ready.  We just need to find the perfect trailer to fit inside of the rail trail posts.

our garden is beginning to take shape other than the birds ate all of my zuchinni and cucumber plants!  oh well our blueberry, elderberry, and raspberry bushes look to be producing some yummy berries this summer.  so far we have tomatoes, broccoli, collards, onions,  carrots, green beans, and sugar snap peas.  i'll post some pics real soon.

In the mean time check out this cool web site. http://littlebloginthebigwoods.blogspot.com/

just think if we could live like this it would mean less time at the job and more time at home and riding bikes.  i'm so jealous.  why can't it be like this?  I mean do we REALLY need a refrigerator? clothes dryer?or all the other unnessary things to survive.  I just want to live in the woods in a little cabin.  wood heat, outdoor toilet, clothes line, garden, a bicycle, solar electric, beeswax candles, and a running spring for water with a pump for a little indoor water.  life would be cheap and hard, but i love being in the woods.  just like camping with a little roof over our heads.  hmmmm maybe someday!

simplify and reduce... a question for you to think about: do u REALLY need all that u have and want?

no!

simplify=less work and stress.

time=happiness
