mandi and i have been putting in some long rides the last couple weeks.  we have been taking advantage of the "warmer" temps.  mandi is trying to make up for lost time, she was down with the flu for a week,  and i am just trying to run myself into the ground.  the back dirt roads in these here parts are either so soft that your tires sink in a inch or they are like ice rinks.  check out this website its about nascar but not really.  were in the world is chris phillips i am worried sick.

so the temps are warming up and all the snow formerly on the back roads has been compacted into ice.  riding on ice can be a bit tricky.   check out my easy to follow ten tips and you will be gliding on the ice better than( insert famous ice skaters name ). 

1) DO NOT lock up your brakes.  a slidng wheel has no grip.  remember gradual even braking.

2) no sudden moves.  make slow deliberate movements.

3) stay loose and be prepared to shift your weight.  go were your bike takes you.

4) maintain your speed.  the faster you cross the ice the sooner you will be off of it. 

5) lower your tire preasure.

6) be prepared to take a fall.  remember roll when you hit the ground. 

7) when climbing on ice stay seated and make smooth even pedal strokes. 

8) take the straighest line through corners.  cut through the apex. 

 thats it.  i know that wasn't ten but i ahve always been an underachiever.   speeking of slippery slopes check out all the "democracy" we are bringing to iraq.   i wonder chris p is up to right now.

Joey and I spent the day skiing AGAIN! 15* today and some bitter wind. 

Looks like in 2 months racing will be underway, actually April 1st we will be in Virginia 

for the Dirty Dawg.  That seems so far away.  I'm sooo ready to get out and ride.  Hopefully soon i'll have my parts kit for my Monolith and my new team pain on Jewelie.  I'm ready.  Are you?

Yeah it was little cold today.  14 degrees windchill almost -10.   needless to say it was a ski day.  some of best snow i have ever skiied in.  super powder.  mandi and i skiied out a forest service road off of pheasant mountain.  there was about a foot of snow and several giant drifts.  tommorow is going to be a balmy 6 degrees.   i realy do not mind winter a whole lot but i am glad it does not last any longer than it does.  i am now going to leave you with a  link to the real news not that peter jennings bullshit.  infowars.com  chris phillips wonder he what up to is he where.?!
